Job Description

We're Norton Rose Fulbright - a global law firm with over 50 offices and 7,000 employees worldwide. We provide the world’s preeminent corporations and financial institutions with a full business law service. At Norton Rose Fulbright, our strategy and our culture are closely entwined. We know that our expansion will mean little unless it is underpinned by truly global collaboration and we understand that pioneering work only takes place when our people have room to move and think beyond boundaries. As well as the relevant skills and experience, we're looking for people who are innovative, commercial and value the work that they do.

Our London office is recruiting a Transaction Delivery Lawyer to join our growing matter support capability within the Innovation Design and Technology (IDT) team.

The Role

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value transactions across our corporate and banking and finance matters, as an extension of our legal and support teams, dealing with activities that are best performed by process-centric specialists utilising legal technology tools, including AI for enhanced matter support and delivery.

You will be both client and business facing and will play a pivotal role in supporting legal transformation across our offices in EMEA. As well as being engaged on specific matters, you will also support the development of the matter support capability.

The goals of the broader transformation function are to improve: (i) the lawyer experience (LX); (ii) the client experience (CX); and (iii) financial performance of the firm. This is done by identifying opportunities to support, and deliver innovation solutions, using technology, and new ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Supervise a team of legal professionals on a per matter basis with legal tasks that are best performed by process-centric specialists utilising legal technology tools, including AI to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Identifying training needs, creating guidance and providing coaching to ensure matter teams have the requisite knowledge and practice specific skills to deliver high-quality output.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment collaborating with other members of the Legal Transformation Programme (LTP) and relevant legal teams.

Service Delivery

  • Ensure that legal teams are undertaking tasks in accordance with established processes, consistently leveraging appropriate resources and support to achieve optimal outcomes and uphold standards.
  • Oversee best practices and standard operating procedures including in respect of matter lifecycle management. Ensuring these ways of working are adhered to with robust checks and QC in place.

  • Monitor and take steps to improve service quality and efficiency in real time.
  • Contribute to and support the implementation of legal project plans, including defining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing.

Client Interaction

  • Serve as a point of contact for advising on and delivering training, guidance, and ongoing support to internal and external clients on the adoption of new ways of working—including the integration and effective use of technology for new matters.
  • Act as a key partner during the initial scoping and design of matter delivery, ensuring all requirements and risk considerations are addressed before work commences.
  • Where appropriate, support follow-up reviews with clients to identify opportunities for process improvement and enhance future service delivery.
  • Address inquiries and concerns promptly, including triaging issues to ensure critical items are dealt with timely.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with transactional legal teams across EMEA.

Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for process optimisation and own changes where necessary, collaborating with others to enhance service delivery.
