Year 1 Teacher | Sutton
Are you a dynamic Year 1 Teacher looking for a Full-Time role in Sutton from January 2026? A friendly Sutton primary is recruiting a Year 1 Teacher to lead a Year 1 class, deliver strong phonics and early literacy and help shape the KS1 offer. The Year 1 Teacher will take part in pre-term planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and be teaching from January 2026.
Role summary - Year 1 Teacher
The Year 1 Teacher will deliver systematic phonics and guided reading as the Year 1 Teacher, lead lively and sequenced writing units as the Year 1 Teacher, and develop mathematical fluency through practical lessons as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will track progress, run interventions and liaise closely with families and LSAs as the Year 1 Teacher.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
• QTS (or equivalent) and secure KS1 practice as the Year 1 Teacher.
• Strong phonics knowledge and confident behaviour strategies as the Year 1 Teacher.
• Ability to attend planning sessions prior to January 2026, induction in January 2026, and begin teaching from January 2026.
Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver high-quality English and maths lessons as the Year 1 Teacher.
• Use assessment to personalise learning and run targeted booster groups as the Year 1 Teacher.
• Communicate effectively with parents and contribute to whole-school events as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will prepare resources in advance of January 2026 and will be teaching from January 2026.
