AI Developer & Automation Apprentice

QA Apprenticeships
London

Are you excited by AI and curious about how technology can transform the way businesses work?

We’re looking for a AI Developer & Automation Apprentice to join our AI implementation programme and help shape the future of AI across the firm.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in AI development, automation, business analysis, process improvement and change management while working on real projects that deliver meaningful business impact.

You'll work alongside experienced developers, technical specialists and business stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI and automation can improve the way we work. You’ll then help design, build, test and implement solutions, as well as supporting colleagues to adopt and get the most from new technology.

Rawlinson & Hunter is a leading international firm of Chartered Accountants, providing specialist accounting, taxation and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, families and businesses. Technology has been an important part of the firm's development for more than 20 years, and we have an established in-house IT team comprising developers, cloud specialists, support professionals and trainers.

What you’ll be doing:

You'll be involved throughout the lifecycle of AI and automation projects, working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the firm.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting requirements gathering, process mapping and identifying opportunities for AI and automation.

  • Assisting with the design and development of AI applications, agents, workflows and automation solutions.

  • Building and refining solutions using AI development tools, coding assistants and automation platforms.

  • Testing AI solutions to ensure they are accurate, reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

  • Supporting the deployment, documentation and rollout of new AI-powered solutions.

  • Creating user guides and training materials and supporting colleagues with the adoption of new technology.

  • Gathering user feedback and helping identify opportunities for improvement.

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for someone curious about technology, who enjoys solving problems and is excited by the potential of AI.

You may have developed your experience through education, personal projects, online learning, previous employment or simply experimenting with technology in your own time.

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Have a strong interest in AI, software development and emerging technologies.

  • Have some programming experience or willingness to develop programming skills with languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, TypeScript or SQL.

  • Enjoy analysing problems and finding ways to improve processes.

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Can work confidently with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Are organised, reliable and detail-oriented.

  • Are eager to learn and develop new technical skills.

  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Experience with AI tools, coding assistants, workflow automation, APIs, Agile, Jira or the Microsoft technology stack would be beneficial, but is not essential .

Entry requirements:

  • Level 3 Qualification (Apprenticeship/A Levels/BTEC etc.)

  • OR equivalent work experience (typically 2 years in a relevant role)

AND

  • 5 x GCSE’s including English & Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

For more information please visit the UK ENIC website.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm with 30 minutes lunch break)

What we offer:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Discretionary annual bonus review.

  • Internal coaching, professional development and training opportunities.

  • Company pension scheme.

  • Private medical insurance.

  • Free on-site gym (Leatherhead office).

  • Discounted gym memberships.

  • Cycle to Work scheme.

  • Team social events (e.g. Christmas and summer parties).

Future prospects:

90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.
