Salary: £29,000–£32,000 per annum
A Key Role in the Pastoral Team
A secondary school in Sutton is seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join its pastoral and administration team.
You'll play an important role in monitoring daily attendance, following up absences and working with families and staff to ensure attendance concerns are identified and dealt with promptly.
The role starts on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Your Responsibilities
Monitor daily pupil attendance
Follow up unexplained and persistent absences
Contact parents and carers regarding attendance
Maintain accurate attendance records
Produce attendance reports and identify patterns
Work closely with Heads of Year and pastoral staff
Support attendance meetings and interventions
Liaise with external agencies where appropriate
Ensure attendance information is recorded accurately on the MIS
About You
Previous school-based attendance experience is highly desirable. You should be confident speaking with parents, organised with data and able to handle sensitive situations professionally.
Experience using Arbor, SIMS, Bromcom or similar MIS systems would be beneficial.
