Join a Friendly School Site Team in Hounslow as Caretaker
Location: Hounslow, West London
Start: ASAP
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday, on a rota
Salary: £31,611 per annum
A busy school in Hounslow is seeking a proactive Caretaker to help oversee the day-to-day running of its premises. This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys keeping buildings and grounds in excellent condition.
Your Responsibilities
Opening and locking the school site in line with security procedures.
Checking doors, windows, gates, alarms and other security systems.
Carrying out minor repairs, decorating and general maintenance.
Completing regular site walks to identify damage, hazards or faults.
Supporting the safe movement and storage of equipment and furniture.
Monitoring contractors and reporting maintenance work that needs specialist attention.
Maintaining outdoor spaces, entrances and communal areas.
Assisting with room setups for meetings, school events and activities.
About You
You will have practical maintenance skills, a flexible approach and the confidence to prioritise tasks throughout the day. Previous experience in caretaking, site maintenance or facilities support is essential; school experience would be particularly useful.
You must be reliable, safety-conscious and willing to follow safeguarding and site security procedures. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
