A forward-thinking secondary school in Hounslow is looking for a practical and creative Art and DT Technician to support its Art and Design Technology departments. The school offers a varied creative curriculum and is committed to giving pupils access to the equipment and resources needed to develop their practical abilities.
The Role
The technician will work closely with teaching staff to prepare classrooms, workshops and materials ahead of lessons. Duties will include organising art supplies, preparing materials for design projects, maintaining equipment, checking stock and ensuring that tools and resources are stored correctly. You will also assist with setting up practical demonstrations, maintaining clean workspaces, carrying out basic equipment checks and supporting the general organisation of both departments.
Requirements
The school is looking for someone with practical skills and an interest in creative subjects. Previous experience in an Art or Design Technology department, workshop or similar technical environment would be beneficial. Good organisation, attention to detail and an understanding of health and safety when working with tools and equipment are essential.
