Technical Director / Partner | AJ100 | London
Job Description
We are leading the search to hire a Technical Director to join the Senior Leadership team of a large, UK headquartered AJ100 practice.
Our client is a nationally recognised architectural practice, known for delivering complex, high quality projects across both new build and existing buildings. With a strong reputation and an established studio network, the business is entering its next phase of growth.
This appointment represents a genuine opportunity to shape how a successful practice operates at a fundamental level.
The Role
This isn't just a project focused technical role. It is a chance to define, embed and lead technical standards across the entire practice.
You will have the platform to:
- Establish and elevate technical design, detailing and documentation standards
- Create consistent, robust processes that drive quality and efficiency
- Influence how risk, compliance and coordination are managed business wide
- Strengthen BIM, digital workflows and specification frameworks
- Mentor and empower technical leaders across multiple studios
You will play a key part in shaping how the practice delivers work now and in the future. The impact will be visible across projects, teams and commercial performance.
Alongside this strategic focus, you will remain engaged in major live schemes, supporting delivery from RIBA Stage 2 onwards, particularly Stages 3 to 5, and providing senior guidance on complex technical and contractual matters.
