Senior Quality Risk Assessor
Job Title: Senior Quality Risk Assessor Location: London Salary: Up to circa £70,000, depending on experience, plus benefits About the position of Senior Quality Risk Assessor: We're looking for a Senior Quality Risk Assessor with hands-on experience in BTL mortgage underwriting and quality assurance, a deep understanding of the end-to-end mortgage lifecycle, and the analytical acumen to lead a robust QA and audit function. You will be both strategic and operational, comfortable rolling up your sleeves to perform detailed audit work, while also contributing to the design and evolution of the broader QA framework. You'll work closely with the Director of Mortgages and key internal stakeholders to embed rigorous, data-led quality assurance processes that meet the expectations of funders, regulators, and internal governance bodies. As the business expands and deepens its involvement in securitisation, your role will gain increasing visibility and influence across the organisation. Responsibilities for the position of Senior Quality Risk Assessor: Lead the end-to-end underwriting QA and audit process Conduct case file and documentation audits to ensure alignment with lending policy, funder requirements, and legal standards Reconcile data across internal systems (Phoebus, CaseMan, OMS) and external platforms Act as the main contact for data tape queries during audits and securitisations; liaise with finance, operations, and funders Deliver structured QA insights using RAG methodologies and contribute to reporting for Governance & Risk Committees Review market activity and competitor positioning on platforms like Knowledge Bank, Mortgage Brain, and Tech 27 Assist with the development of QA practices for commercial lending and support the wider risk and audit function as it scales Partner with internal teams to ensure consistent data accuracy, process alignment, and audit readiness across all mortgage productsExperience required for the position of Senior Quality Risk Assessor: 5-10 years' UK mortgage underwriting experience (ideally BTL or specialist lending) Proven track record in mortgage QA or audit environments Experience working with multiple systems and performing complex data reconciliations Solid understanding of mortgage workflows Familiarity with data tapes, securitisation queries, and funder engagement Proficiency in systems such as CaseMan, Phoebus, Salesforce, and ideally OMS Working knowledge of Power BI or similar tools (or willingness to develop skills)For more information regarding the role of Senior Quality Risk Assessor contact us Stellar Select is acting as an employment agency and is a corporate member of the REC Due to a high volume of applications, we will only contact you if your application has been successful.
