Job Description
The Client Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering a premium, relationship-led service to a diverse portfolio of key publishing clients. Acting as a strategic partner and primary point of contact throughout the client lifecycle, you will focus on enhancing client value, maximising revenue opportunities, and ensuring a seamless, positive experience. By working closely with internal teams and maintaining a client-first approach, the Client Manager supports long-term retention, fosters trust, and drives continued business growth.
Job Description
Client Management & Strategic Development
- Serve as the dedicated Client Manager for a portfolio of clients, delivering a seamless and premium client experience from initial engagement through to long-term partnership.
- Drive additional revenue for Clients by implementing a lean forward approach, continually looking for ways to ensure maximum value from the deal.
- Consistently work towards KPIs for the Client Relations team, enhancing both client value and satisfaction across all deals.
- Maintain proactive, tailored communication with clients via regular emails, calls, and meetings.
- Liaise with Operations for onboarding processes, ensuring clients are seamlessly integrated & continually updated throughout.
- Oversee the efficient handling of client queries, collaborating with internal business units to ensure timely, accurate responses and resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and objectives, develop and refine client strategies aimed at maximising publishing revenue.
- Proactively identify opportunities for clients to gain greater value from the services offered, leveraging available business tools and insights to assess client performance, uncover revenue, and recommend tailored strategies.
- Leverage business tools & insights to support client communication, delivering Quarterly Business Reviews for a portfolio of clients.
- Carry out regular ‘health-checks’ on client portfolio to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Act as a trusted music publishing advisor, offering tailored guidance on best practices, effective copyright management and income maximisation.
Client Experience Enablement
- Collaborate with internal business units (including Marketing, Copyright, Finance and Sync) to enhance client service, representing clients’ evolving needs in the development of service delivery standards and strategies.
- Act as the internal advocate for your client portfolio, ensuring revenue opportunities are prioritised and actioned.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to maximise the value of the deal, ensuring clients’ needs are met whilst balancing positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to Client Services team meetings, advocating for client needs and playing a key role in the continuous enhancement of our service delivery standards.
- Drive client engagement initiatives that promote education, retention, and long-term client partnership, collaborating with Marketing to deliver campaigns and events.
- Share client insights with the Global Sales team to identify cross-sell, upsell, or rescope opportunities
- Represent the company to the highest standard and its values at industry events, fostering relationships with existing and prospective clients while expanding our network of key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Skills
- Ability to establish context in conversations and communications to identify and drive opportunity.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Native or fluent German speaker.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build relationships focused on trust and transparency across diverse client types.
- Analytical skills and strategic thinking to interpret client data and develop actionable improvements.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident in problem solving, conflict resolution, and managing client expectations with professionalism and care. • Proactive, self-starting approach with the confidence to raise issues or opportunities autonomously
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the music publishing ecosystem and the evolving global music copyright landscape.
- Awareness of the different client profiles (songwriters, managers, labels, publishers, libraries) and their unique needs.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant data tools is advantageous

Experience
- 3+ years in a client-facing role in the music industry, ideally with a music publisher.
- Experience in servicing a diverse client base and managing relationships in the creative industries including high-profile or high-value clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Communications, Business or a related field is preferred.
