Compliance Manager

The Compliance Manager will oversee regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to legal frameworks. This role is based in Jersey and offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to support the senior manager in running the function, focusing on AML/CFT/CPF advice, guidance, and training.

Description

• Manage the provision of ad hoc advice and guidance to the business and compliance staff to support regulatory compliance.
• Ensure AML-related CMP reviewers are fully trained and incorporate learnings into controls and training programs.
• Contribute to policy development, embedding CMP insights into the control environment and awareness initiatives.
• Manage and develop direct reports, including appraisals, training, and mentoring on complex queries.
• Maintain regular communication with the senior manager regarding responsibilities and updates.
• Participate in compliance team meetings, implement decisions, and support compliance activities, including inductions for new staff.
• Assist the MLRO with internal SAR investigations.
• Perform additional compliance-related tasks as assigned by department heads or partners.

Profile

A successful Compliance Manager should have:

• Educated to A level standard or equivalent
• ICA or other relevant compliance qualification to diploma level or above
• A strong awareness and understanding of local regulatory requirements, and a good technical knowledge of AML
• A minimum of 5 years' compliance experience
• Previous experience in a similar role and preferably within a legal environment
• Strong IT skills
