Supplier Performance & Contract Manager – Technology
Responsible for the end-to-end management and oversight for a supplier or group of suppliers, primarily small to medium in scale and complexity. This includes, but is not limited to the overall relationship and financial performance, effective contract and commercial management whilst ensuring the relationship approach and strategy is agreed and implemented. Responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders, identifying, driving value and continuous improvement for the Business and Technology
What you’ll be doing:
Relationship and contract management primarily of Operational and Supporting classified suppliers, with a requirement to manage Strategic and Critical suppliers if needed by the Business
Apply best practice and supplier management in accordance with the Royal Mail Technology Supplier Management Policy and Standards
Apply appropriate contractual and commercial management skills, tools and techniques in order to ensure the effectiveness of supplier contracts to meet and exceed contractual obligations, deliver value and minimize risk.
Work closely with Technology, Business and Procurement colleagues to build and govern supplier relationships and fit-for-purpose contracts
Take personal responsibility and accountability for suppliers within scope, acting as a subject matter authority and role model
Escalation point for Supplier related issues and own dispute resolution
Pro-active and effective contract demand and renewal planning that deliver’s best value contract extensions and / or renewals
Perform contract, commercial review and contract administration e.g. Change Control Notices, Change Requests, Work Packages whilst maintaining all subsequently amended operational IT contracts under management
Oversee asset (including license) management activity
Deliver additional supplier relationship responsibilities determined by the needs of the team or individual development requirements
Where required provide SME input to tender activity, supplier negotiation(s) and evaluations involving key stakeholders within Technology, Service Delivery, Procurement and Legal
Support financial and budget planning, monitoring and forecasting working closely with Technology’s Supplier Finance Manager
Develop and work within a team dedicated to providing a centre of excellence in contract, commercial and relationship management
Provide key commercial support for IT programmes including ad-hoc commercial support and expertise across Royal Mail
Work with the Head of Supplier and Contract Management and the Supplier Relationship Managers in the evaluation of Supplier responses and proposals including production of key briefing notes and responding to wider stakeholder requirements
What you’ll bring:
Supplier, Contract and Commercial Management experience, Full life-cycle contract and commercial management in a complex environment, including e2e supplier governance and development, Commercial and stakeholder management skills, and a consistent track record of building strong internal business and supplier relationships, negotiation skills, being able to demonstrate experience of supporting, leading and managing negotiations for agreements, including dispute management, ability to analyse, understand and enforce contractual obligations, whilst balancing out the need to maintain and grow a strong interdependent relationship with suppliers
