The Role
To make this vision a reality, a strong legal and governance framework is essential. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused Legal Services Assistant to support our Legal team.
Job Summary:
In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues in Legal, Governance, Procurement, and the wider Organising Committee, across legal administration, data protection, insurance, and compliance. You’ll draft, review, and maintain contracts and legal documentation while managing document filing systems and supporting the contract lifecycle, including renewals and deadlines. You’ll assist with legal research, briefing materials, and governance administration, such as drafting meeting papers and maintaining accurate records. You’ll help ensure data protection compliance by maintaining records of processing activities, supporting data subject requests, and handling GDPR queries.
As a Legal Services Assistant you will liaise with brokers and insurers to maintain appropriate cover for Games activities, support renewals and claims, tracking insurance requirements for suppliers and contractors. You’ll also help implement compliance frameworks, support audits and reporting, maintain logs and risk registers.
Key Skills and Experience:
To thrive in this role you will have proven experience in a legal, governance, or compliance setting, whether in-house or in a law firm. This will be paired with excellent organisational and administrative skills and a strong eye for detail. You’ll bring working knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while handling confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems is essential. Familiarity with insurance processes, claims management, intellectual property, sponsorship or brand protection issues, or experience in major events, sport, or the public sector is desirable. Previous involvement in governance or company secretarial work, along with legal training, or studying toward a legal qualification, would be advantageous.

Salary: Starting salary is £30,000 Salary offered will be based on demonstrated skills and experience related to this role.
