Bally's Corporation is a global casino-entertainment company with a growing omni-channel presence. It currently owns and manages 15 casinos across 10 states, a golf course in New York, a horse racetrack in Colorado, and has access to OSB licenses in 18 states. With 10,600 employees, the Company's casino operations include approximately 15,300 slot machines, 580 table games and 3,800 hotel rooms. Upon completing the construction of a permanent casino facility in Chicago, IL, and a land-based casino near the Nittany Mall in State College, PA, Bally's will own and/or manage 16 casinos across 11 states. Bally’s also has rights to developable land in Las Vegas post the closure of the Tropicana.

 Join our dynamic iGaming Nightwatch team, where you'll be at the forefront of creating seamless user experiences through our personalised iGaming lobby and machine learning led features.

You'll implement high-performance backends processing millions of requests daily, focusing on performant code, data modelling, maintaining service uptime and delivering features to our customers. This role includes working with multiple stakeholders to see features from requirement until it’s in the hands of customers. The tech stack includes TypeScript/Node.js, AWS Lambda, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL & message queues. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment. So, what will you be doing?

  • Designing scalable backend architectures and data models
  • Implementing complex business logic and data transformation pipelines
  • Building high-throughput APIs with proper caching, rate limiting, and monitoring
  • Optimizing database queries and implementing efficient data access patterns
  • Managing infrastructure as code and deployment pipelines
  • Debugging production issues across our systems
  • Maintaining internal tooling

And what are we looking for?

  • Strong computer science and/or engineering fundamentals
  • A self-starter who is not afraid to challenge themselves and dive into new areas
  • Experience writing backends and APIs (preferably TypeScript)
  • Knowledge of performance profiling and bottleneck identification
  • A solution focused, outcome-oriented problem solver.
  • A polyglot, comfortable developing in a range of programming languages and curious to learn more
  • Demonstrates strong engineering principles and can deploy a wide range of progressive technical practices – such as continuous delivery, a walking skeleton and pipeline automation
  • Comfortable in the whole spectrum of skills needed to develop, build and release an artifact to production

Must Have

  • Experience with TypeScript on the backend
  • Experience with building backend services
  • Understanding of RESTful API design patterns and the protocol

Nice To Have

  • Contentful modelling experience
  • Familiarity with other backend languages (example: Rust, Go, Python)
  • Messaging technologies
  • Familiarity with building cloud native solutions and best practices (AWS)
  • Experience in designing and developing a micro-service architecture
