Overview
We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Commercial Manager to lead on high-impact commercial functions, supporting resource planning, contract assurance, and team development. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering strategic outcomes while upholding governance and driving commercial excellence across major projects.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Commercial Director in managing resources and succession planning.

Lead and mentor commercial teams across contract management, supply chain, cost control, and reporting.

Ensure compliance with company procedures and contract obligations.

Provide commercial input during bids and project mobilisations.

Maintain stakeholder relationships and negotiate with clients and partners.

Drive consistency in commercial practice across projects and sectors.

Oversee recruitment, performance, and development of commercial staff.

Monitor and manage project insurance, valuations, risk, and cash flow.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong commercial acumen with a track record in high-value infrastructure or construction.

Experience in contract strategy, cost control, and reporting processes.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to inspire, lead and develop high-performing commercial teams.

Confident in navigating legal and contractual matters.

Health & safety awareness within a commercial context.

7+ years’ experience in commercial roles in ideally the water industry

Proven leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Skilled in implementing procurement and contract strategies.

Familiarity with strategic planning and risk management.

Degree accredited by RICS or CICES.

Chartered Membership of RICS or CICES would be desirable
