Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Locum Neuro Physiotherapist to join the Neuro Community team at Barts Health NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal London Hospital in Tower Hamlets. This full-time role involves providing physiotherapy services to patients with neurological conditions within the community setting. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering rehabilitation programs for individuals with a range of neurological disorders, including stroke, acquired brain injury, and other neurological impairments. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. This role is for an initial period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
As a Neuro Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of patients with neurological conditions, developing personalized treatment plans, and providing targeted rehabilitation interventions to improve mobility, functional independence, and overall quality of life. You will work in the community setting, visiting patients in their homes and local clinics, providing therapy in the least restrictive environment. You will also work closely with family members and caregivers to provide support, education, and advice to aid in the patient’s recovery. In addition, you will monitor patient progress, review care plans, and ensure accurate documentation is maintained in line with NHS standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist
- Previous experience in neurological rehabilitation within a community setting
- Strong knowledge of neurological conditions and physiotherapy interventions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with home-based therapy and community care is desirable
