Location: Wembley, North West London
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Term-time only
Salary: £85–£105 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate and September Starts Available

About the Role

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Wembley, North West London is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys working in a creative, play-based learning environment.

You will be working with children aged 3–5 years , supporting their social, emotional, and academic development in line with the EYFS framework . The school places a strong emphasis on child-centred learning and creating a safe, stimulating environment where every child feels valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS lessons

  • Work with individual children and small groups to support development

  • Assist with phonics, early numeracy, communication, and creative play

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Support children with personal care when required

  • Observe, assess, and contribute to children’s learning records

  • Prepare learning resources and engaging classroom environments

  • Support indoor and outdoor learning activities

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction

  • Build strong, positive relationships with children and staff

The Ideal Candidate

The successful EYFS TA will be:

  • Warm, patient, and enthusiastic

  • Passionate about early years education

  • Knowledgeable about child development and play-based learning

  • Confident supporting children with varying needs and abilities

  • Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player

  • An effective communicator with both children and adults

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in an EYFS, nursery, or early years setting

  • Understanding of the EYFS framework

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification

  • Experience supporting SEN within EYFS

  • Paediatric First Aid or Safeguarding training
