Director, Head of Rewards (HR)
LEGO Digital Play (LDP) will bring the LEGO brand into the world of first-party digital entertainment and gaming. Our mission is to ensure the LEGO Brand remains as powerfully a part of children’s lives in the coming decades as it has ever been – as more and more of those lives take part in digital.
We are a fast-growing start-up driven by collaboration, innovation, and a shared passion for making things happen. Our culture is open, intellectually rigorous and creatively vibrant.
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Director, Head of Rewards to design, scale, implement and evolve our total rewards strategy as we continue to grow rapidly. This role is a key leadership position within the People & Culture (P&C) function, reporting directly to the Head of P&C, with responsibility for ensuring our compensation and benefits philosophy supports our ambition to attract, motivate, and retain world-class talent in the gaming and tech industry.
Key Responsibilities
Implement, scale and evolve the global rewards strategy covering both short- and long-term incentives, performance frameworks, and benefits programs across multiple regions (Europe and the Americas).
Develop and lead compensation design - from base pay architecture to incentive plans, executive compensation, equity strategy, and recognition programs.
Develop job architecture/backbone and implement across functions
Assess and evolve benefits offerings to ensure market competitiveness, employee engagement, and alignment with company culture and values.
Partner with Finance and Executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for compensation and benefits programs.
Build scalable processes and policies to support organizational growth and ensure global alignment with local market practices.
Provide thought leadership on pay transparency, reward philosophy, and evolving market trends in gaming and tech industry.
Coach and support leaders, People Partners and Talent teams to ensure consistency in total rewards practices and communication across all levels.
Engage with senior stakeholders and the Board on executive pay governance, benchmarking, and compliance.
Qualifications
Proven experience leading total rewards in a scaling start-up or fast-growing organisations, with exposure from hands-on implementation to strategic design.
Deep understanding of compensation, benefits, and incentive design, including experience covering executive through to early-career levels as well as designing job architecture.
Strong international experience, ideally across Europe and the Americas.
Excellent analytical and market benchmarking skills, with comfort using data to inform strategic recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex business dynamics with clarity and confidence.
A builder mindset — pragmatic, adaptive, and energized by creating structure in growing, creative organizations.
Industry experience in gaming, entertainment, tech and/or adjacent spaces preferred.
Relationships driver: track record in building relationships across an organisation to meet your agenda.
