• Provide respiratory physiotherapy interventions for patients with acute respiratory conditions where required.
• Assess patients’ mobility, transfers, balance, functional ability and exercise tolerance to support safe discharge planning.
• Facilitate early mobilisation and rehabilitation to reduce hospital length of stay and improve patient outcomes.
• Provide clinical reasoning and recommendations regarding ongoing rehabilitation needs and appropriate discharge pathways.
• Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments (MCAs) and contribute to Best Interest Decisions where appropriate.
• Complete mobility assessments, falls risk assessments and recommend appropriate equipment or onward support.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Consultants, Nursing Staff, Speech and Language Therapists, Discharge Teams and other Allied Health Professionals.
• Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions and discharge planning processes.
• Provide advice, education and support to patients, relatives and carers throughout the rehabilitation journey.
• Maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC standards and Trust policies.
• Supervise and support junior Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants and students where appropriate.

• Knowledge of community rehabilitation pathways and discharge services.

What We Offer:

• Flexible employment options to suit your career goals.
• Opportunity to work within a busy acute hospital physiotherapy service.
• Supportive multidisciplinary team committed to clinical excellence.
• Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
