Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour - Strand, London, WC2R 2LS

About us:

The last few years have crystallised the growing sense that organisational success must take account of the diverse range of stakeholders involved in business and the economy. King’s Business School has been at the centre of that conversation, and we put our commitment to drive positive change at the heart of our research and education.

King’s Business School is triple-accredited (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) and based in central London. We are part of an internationally renowned university with a track-record of pioneering thinking, and have the limitless energies of London’s businesses, policy-makers, entrepreneurs and change-makers to draw on. We present an exciting work environment focused on collaboration and innovation with a view to making the world a better place.

The Human Resource Management & Employment Relations Department includes leading scholars in the fields of HRM, Organisational Behaviour and Employment Relations. We are globally recognised as a top international team of work and organisation scholars, who publish in top-tier journals, generate impact, and win research funding. Core to our values is the offer of a working environment that encourages inclusion, teamwork, and innovation, and supports individual faculty members in achieving their personal work goals and producing excellent student outcomes.

About the role:

We present an exciting opening for an outstanding candidate to join the Human Resource Management & Employment Relations Department at Lecturer level. We welcome applications across the HRM, Organizational Behaviour, and Employment Relations sub-disciplines. The successful applicant will, over time, sustain high-quality research activity through a portfolio of individual and/or joint research projects, engage with recognised academic networks, and secure research funding. They will publish research findings in highly rated internationally recognised journals and/or influence wider policy and practice in this area.

This appointment is made on our Education & Research Pathway, where excellence in both education and research is expected. The successful applicant will play a role in the planning, organisation, and delivery of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Initial teaching activities will include contributing to undergraduate modules in organisational behaviour and quantitative methods. It is further expected that you will carry out academic management duties as requested by the Executive Dean or Head of Department and contribute to the pastoral care of our students.

It is essential that you hold a PhD (or be pending results) in a relevant field and evidence substantial research potential, via publications in leading refereed journals and an impressive research pipeline. Experience in teaching on-campus modules is also essential; and interest in teaching quantitative methods is highly desirable.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) starting 1st September 2026. You will be offered an indefinite contract but will initially serve a three-year probation period. During these three years, Lecturers receive a generous teaching abatement to support the development of their research profile.

Research staff at King’s are entitled to at least 10 days per year (pro-rata) for professional development. This entitlement, from the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, applies to Postdocs, Research Assistants, Research and Teaching Technicians, Teaching Fellows and AEP equivalent up to and including grade 7. Visit the Centre for Research Staff Development for more information.
