Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant will include:

• Providing consistent, individualised support to pupils with SEN

• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons

• Working alongside the class teacher to adapt learning materials

• Implementing strategies from EHCPs and SEN support plans

• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management

• Encouraging positive social interaction and communication

• Supporting transitions between lessons and activities

• Assisting during break times and lunchtimes when required

• Recording observations and sharing progress updates with teachers and SEN staff

• Supporting personal care needs where required, always with dignity and respect

• Helping to maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

You will be expected to promote independence while ensuring pupils feel supported and secure.
