An Outstanding School in Lambeth is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Spanish Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages Department. The school is keen to appoint someone who can make language learning engaging, build students' confidence and help pupils develop the skills needed to communicate effectively in Spanish.
Spanish Teacher Role
Teaching Spanish across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE
Location: Lambeth
Salary: MPS1–UPS3
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Start Date: ASAP
You will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students build a secure foundation in vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation before progressing towards more independent communication.
At KS3, lessons will focus on developing confidence in speaking and listening while strengthening reading and writing skills. At GCSE, you will prepare students for the demands of the examination specification, covering topics such as identity, culture, local area, school, future plans and international issues, as appropriate to the course.
You will use a variety of teaching approaches, including conversation practice, listening exercises, translation and structured writing tasks. Students will be encouraged to communicate confidently and apply their knowledge in different contexts.
Regular assessment will help you identify gaps in understanding and provide targeted feedback. You will also support students with examination technique and help them improve their accuracy across all four language skills.

Spanish Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Spanish or a related subject
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE Spanish experience
Strong spoken and written Spanish
Good understanding of Spanish grammar
Effective classroom management
Strong planning and assessment skills
Ability to motivate students and develop confidence
Commitment to student progress
Salary
The salary for this Spanish Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
