Are you an experienced Microsoft Cloud leader who wants to build and grow a practice , rather than simply manage what's already there?

We're partnering with an ambitious UK IT Solutions Provider looking for a Practice Lead – Cloud & Modern Workplace to take ownership of a major growth area across Azure, Modern Workplace and AI .

This is not a hands-on Technical Architect role .

Leadership is the #1 requirement.

You'll take responsibility for the people, commercial performance and future direction of the practice, working closely with senior leadership, Sales, Presales and Delivery.

The Opportunity

Cloud & Modern Workplace is a major strategic growth area for the business, with AI and Agentic AI central to its future direction .

The Cloud & Modern Workplace team is currently around four people , with ambitions to grow towards 10 over the next 12 months , alongside an established UC/Telephony capability.

You'll take ownership of:

• Practice strategy, growth and capability
• Team leadership, mentoring and development
• Pipeline, utilisation, profitability and forecasting
• Recruitment, skills gaps and resource planning
• Working with Sales & Presales to create demand
• Building propositions across Azure, Modern Workplace and AI
• Making data-driven decisions around where to invest, upskill or redeploy

This needs someone who doesn't simply ask "Why aren't Sales bringing us enough work?"

You'll be asking:

"What are customers buying? Where's the opportunity? What should we build next – and how do we make it happen?"

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have proven experience leading a Professional Services, Consultancy or technology practice within an:

• IT Solutions Provider
• MSP
• Microsoft Partner
• VAR
• Technology Consultancy

You'll combine strong people leadership with commercial awareness and understand how Sales, Presales, Consultancy and Delivery need to work together.

Experience managing pipeline, utilisation, forecasting, profitability, team performance and capability development will be key.

Technical Credibility

You don't need to be hands-on day-to-day, but you'll need strong understanding across:

Azure / Cloud

• Azure migrations & transformation
• Azure infrastructure and services

Modern Workplace

• Microsoft 365
• Intune / Endpoint
• Entra ID
• Microsoft Security

AI

• Microsoft AI / Copilot
• Agentic AI
• AI-enabled services and propositions

The wider practice also covers Microsoft Telephony, Cisco Webex and Collaboration , but this is only around 20% of the remit and you don't need to be a Telephony expert .

The Person

We're looking for someone who is:

Positive. Calm. Commercial. Data-driven. Collaborative. Credible with Sales.

You'll have the confidence to challenge senior leadership constructively, develop people and make decisions based on what the data and market are telling you.

Most importantly, when something isn't working, you'll be someone who asks:

"What's the problem and how do we fix it?"

Package & Location

£95,000 basic + £15,000 bonus

There may be a conversation around £100,000 basic for an exceptional candidate .

The role is predominantly home-based, but you'll need to collaborate regularly in London – typically around one day per week on average , with potentially more time together initially.

Travel expenses for office visits are covered.

Ideally South East / London but flexible for the right person with zero travel issues
