Financial Payroll Analyst

We are now looking for a Payroll Finance Analyst to join our Payroll & Benefits team and play a key role in connecting payroll and finance operations across the business. As a Payroll Finance Analyst, you will be at the heart of payroll and finance operations, ensuring employment-related costs are reported accurately and allocated correctly across the business. You'll work closely with colleagues in Payroll, Finance, Reward and wider business functions, giving you exposure to a broad range of stakeholders and processes. You'll have the opportunity to influence improvements, support business-critical reporting, contribute to projects and help drive the digital development of the Payroll & Benefits function. Every month brings new challenges, opportunities to analyse trends and the satisfaction of delivering accurate financial information that supports business decisions. Some of your key responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate accounting and allocation of payroll-related costs within finance systems
  • Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet and profit and loss accounts in line with agreed timetables and standards
  • Act as the key finance contact within the Payroll & Benefits team and the primary payroll contact for Finance stakeholders
  • Analyse payroll cost movements and provide meaningful commentary on monthly variances
  • Support year-end activities, including holiday pay accrual calculations and employment cost reporting
  • Manage company car administration within the UK
  • Safeguard the correct administration of VAT within the expense management system
  • Support Group Payroll and Group Reward with employee data, statistics, governance activities and reporting requirements
  • Participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives within your area of expertise

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience working with employment cost accounting, payroll accounting or a similar finance-related role
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and month-end reconciliation processes
  • Experience analysing financial data and producing meaningful reports and commentary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial and/or payroll systems
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across Payroll, Finance and HR functions
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
