Assistant Warehouse Team Leader (Goods In)

We are looking for an Assistant Warehouse Team Leader for Goods in, to join Team OB in our Warehouse here in Chessington.

35 hours, Monday to Friday (some flexibility needed arounds shift times and weekends especially during peak periods)

Mon (8:00am-16:00pm) Tues (8:00am-16:00pm) Weds (8:00am-16:00pm) Thurs (8:00am-16:00pm) and Fri (8:00am-16:00pm)

As an Assistant Warehouse Team Leader for Goods In, you will be responsible for accurately receiving stock into the Warehouse and ensuring that the Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a reflection of the stock received. You will also support your Team Leader in coordinating the day-to-day tasks amongst your team.

You will be responsible for counting stock on a daily basis and reporting any discrepancies of damages.

You will work in collaboration with your Team Leader and will communicate across several internal teams, aiming to provide a smooth goods in warehouse operation.

Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo.

More about the role

An OB Assistant Warehouse Team Leader for Goods In will:

• Liaise with suppliers and freight forwarders to plan and schedule intake into the Warehouse

• Ensure accurate and timely receipt of goods into the warehouse to ensure they are presented for stock put away within 24 hours

• Make sure that the stock received is counted accurately and checked for damages

• Report delivery discrepancies to OB suppliers and the Buying team

• Unload containers by hand

• Use a forklift truck to unload deliveries

• Support your Team Leader in collating statistical data to contribute to the company monthly stat pack

• Attend weekly Team Leader meetings on behalf of your Team Leader, when needed

• Assist with the onboarding of new team members

• Help identify team training requirements and raise these to your Team Leader

• Support your Team Leader with your team’s personal development, by giving them regular feedback on their performance

• Grow your understanding of how to address any performance concerns, including attendance and timekeeping issues

• Carry out recorded conversations, with guidance from your Team Leader or the People team, when needed

• Develop your leadership skills and be a great role model for your team.

• Ensure the Warehouse is a safe environment, by following health and safety regulations and our Company Health and Safety policy

• Must be conscientious

• Comfortable working with Windows and Android handheld scanners and in-house warehouse systems

• Must have a good eye for detail

• You will be calm under pressure

• Good verbal and written communication

• Focus on diligence and accuracy

• Happy to work on different shift rota’s

• Team player

• Ability to perform the same task on a daily basis, while striving to maintain a high standard at all times

• Must by physically fit, as this role involves lots of walking and lifting
