Senior Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Loan Servicing team within our Product Engineering department.
Our Servicing team build the systems that keep our loans moving. As a senior engineer, you’ll play a critical role in evolving our loan infrastructure, ensuring accuracy, speed and simplicity. Our team are keen problem solvers, collaborators and innovators. This is a brilliant opportunity to get involved in a team that are core to what our customers experience once they take out a product with Funding Circle.

The role
You love working in a complex problem domain where you can have a real and substantial impact on the business
You have an interest or experience in relational databases, automated testing, microservices and/or event-driven architecture
You are a keen collaborator - you love to pair and believe that working together is smarter than working in a silo
You are a teacher - generous with your time and expertise to teach stakeholders and our fellow engineers how to answer their own questions, and can explain complex problems simply
You proactively problem solve, identify and confidently mitigate risks, issues or address weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day
You have a strong sense of initiative, seeking out answers where they may not immediately be clear and driving clarity from ambiguity
What we’re looking for
Experience working in Ruby, Python or a similar language
Strong fundamental programming skills
Ability to quickly grasp and understand complex back end systems
It’s beneficial, but not essential if you have an interest in working with complex mathematical problems
