About the Position
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Southall, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning. This role requires consistency, empathy, and a calm approach, particularly when supporting pupils who may struggle with regulation, communication, or changes to routine.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with special educational needs throughout the school day
Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
Implement strategies and accommodations outlined in EHCPs and support plans
Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social interaction
Assist pupils with transitions between activities and environments
Adapt learning resources to suit individual learning styles and abilities
Encourage independence, resilience, and self-confidence
Provide feedback and observations to teaching and SEN staff
Support pupils during break times, lunch, and extracurricular activities
Depending on the needs of the pupils, the role may involve aspects of personal care or physical support. Full training and guidance will be provided, and dignity and respect will always be prioritised.
