Marchant Recruitment
Enfield, Greater London

A high-performing secondary school in Enfield is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its senior leadership support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of Human Resources within a thriving school that is recognised for its commitment to staff wellbeing, professional development, and educational excellence. You'll work closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager, and Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape a positive workplace culture while delivering a first-class HR service across the school.

The Role

As HR Manager, you'll lead both the operational and strategic HR functions, ensuring staff are supported throughout the employee lifecycle while maintaining full compliance with employment legislation and safer recruitment requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading recruitment campaigns and overseeing all safer recruitment processes

  • Providing expert advice on employee relations, absence management, disciplinary, grievance, and capability matters

  • Managing HR policies, procedures, and ensuring compliance with current employment legislation

  • Overseeing contracts, personnel files, payroll amendments, and HR systems

  • Producing workforce reports to support strategic planning and decision-making

  • Working with senior leaders to improve staff engagement, wellbeing, and retention

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance HR processes and introduce best practice across the school

  • Supporting organisational change and workforce planning initiatives

About the School

This successful 11–18 secondary school is recognised for its strong leadership, ambitious vision, and commitment to investing in its staff. The school has cultivated a collaborative and inclusive working environment where employees are encouraged to develop professionally, contribute new ideas, and play an active role in the school's continued success.

The Successful Candidate

Applications are welcomed from experienced HR Managers, HR Business Partners, Senior HR Advisors, or experienced HR professionals ready to step into a strategic leadership position within education.

You'll have extensive knowledge of UK employment law, excellent communication skills, and experience managing complex HR casework with confidence and professionalism. A proactive approach, commercial awareness, and the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation are essential.

As part of the school's safer recruitment procedures, references from your current (or most recent) employer and a previous employer will be required before an interview can be arranged.

Salary & Benefits

  • £52,000–£62,000 per annum

  • Full-time, permanent position

  • September 2026 start

  • Local Government Pension Scheme

  • Outstanding CPD and leadership development opportunities

  • Employee wellbeing and mental health support programme

  • Flexible working opportunities where operationally appropriate

  • Modern offices and excellent on-site facilities

Apply

The school is interviewing as soon as suitable applications are received, so early applications are encouraged.

If you're looking for a rewarding HR leadership role where you can influence strategy, develop people, and make a lasting impact within a high-achieving secondary school, we'd love to hear from you. Submit your CV today for immediate consideration.
