Senior Marketing Team Leader
Are you passionate about developing marketing talent and driving positive change?
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Team Leader to nurture and lead the Marketing Assistant (MA) team within our Events division. This is a critical leadership role focused on people development, marketing processes and systems optimisation, and championing marketing excellence – to nurture the next generation of marketing talent and improve commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership
- Lead, motivate, coach and upskill a team of 10 MAs to deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Drive and deliver on talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Set KPIs, standards, and incentive structures to recognise and reward high performance.
- Foster a positive team culture, exemplifying our Wader values.
- Collaborate effectively with the marketing management team to resolve shared challenges.
- Confident communicator to run weekly team meetings, training sessions and present at department monthlies.
Process, Systems & Projects
- Adapt and optimise processes to create efficiencies and automate tasks.
- Quality control and uphold campaign execution standards.
- Streamline cross-functional processes and improve stakeholder relationships.
- Define and implement benchmarks for what good looks like for the MA team.
- Resolve issues and elevate performance relating to marketing systems.
- Identify and implement new tools to optimise team efficiency.
Strategy
- Own the people strategy for the MA team – from talent acquisition, talent development, talent management and talent retention.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in our marketing tools, systems, and processes.
- Enhance the marketing skillset in the MA team and wider department.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in team leadership within B2B marketing (events experience not essential), with demonstrated ability to hire, coach, motivate, and upskill a junior team effectively.
- Leadership and talent development expertise – this is a people-first role.
- Excellent communicator and relationship-builder within marketing but also cross-functionally and Senior Management.
- Driven by a continuous improvement mindset to ‘make the MA world a better place’.
- First-hand experience with marketing automation systems and marketing tools.
Why Join Us?
- Lead from the front: Genuine opportunity to shape future marketing talent.
- Meaningful impact: Real ownership and accountability for the people strategy.
- Support and collaboration: Be part of an enthusiastic, collaborative, forward-thinking department.
- Professional development: Support on your management journey, with access to department and company-wide management training.
- Hybrid working model: two days a week in the London office.
