Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in scaling and innovating this product, as well as building brand new solutions. You will also be responsible for driving technical product choices as part of a cross-functional team. With the company currently embarking on a migration to Kubernetes, you will play a pivotal role in this process and have the opportunity to upskill in this area. Your responsibilities span across multiple crucial domains of software development and deployment - your primary focus lies in architecting, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. You'll be tasked with designing and implementing efficient code, leveraging C# and .NET Core frameworks, while also optimising cloud resources using Azure services. Your expertise in Terraform enables you to define and manage infrastructure as code, ensuring consistent and reproducible environments. Implementing CI/CD pipelines, you automate the software delivery process, facilitating rapid iterations and seamless deployments. Additionally, your proficiency in Kubernetes allows you to orchestrate containerised applications efficiently, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance. Finally, your seniority means collaboration with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance, and staying abreast of emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the backend ecosystem. The commitment to your growth is second to none; you will be given a £1,000 annual L&D budget and be put on a personal development plan which is backed up by salary reviews twice yearly to ensure that your hard work is recognised and rewarded. The team frequents to the London office on a hybrid basis, and this amounts to 3 times a week where you will not only benefit from bouncing ideas off your colleagues but free breakfasts and lunches which are served by the dedicated canteen staff.
