NHS Sales Lead

Automate Health
London

About Us

We are Credentially, a purpose-driven company committed to enabling accessible and safe healthcare for all. By 2030, our mission is clear: to credential 1 million healthcare workers annually, equipping them with the essential skills and expertise to deliver top-tier care. In tandem, we aspire to contribute 10 million additional hours of patient care to healthcare systems, enriching access to vital services and elevating overall patient outcomes.

Our Values

Our values are at the heart of our company and alignment with our values is the cornerstone of our recruitment process:

  • Doing the right thing: Integrity guides our every decision. We hold ourselves accountable to the highest ethical standards, ensuring honesty, transparency, and fairness in all endeavours.

  • Striving for excellence: We're relentless in our pursuit of excellence. By setting ambitious goals and fostering a culture of innovation, we push boundaries to exceed expectations and drive positive change.

  • Aligning as a firm: Collaboration is key to our success. We work as one cohesive team, leveraging diverse talents and perspectives to achieve our shared goals with precision and efficiency.

  • Measuring impactful outcomes: Results matter. We measure success not just by numbers, but by the tangible impact we make in transforming healthcare systems and improving patient outcomes.

  • Embracing teamwork and fun: We believe in the power of camaraderie and enjoyment. Through teamwork, laughter, and a supportive work environment, we inspire creativity and resilience to overcome challenges and achieve greatness.

What We Do

Credentially is an all-in-one SaaS platform that automates the painful, manual process of onboarding and credentialing healthcare professionals. Instead of chasing paperwork and juggling spreadsheets, clinics and hospitals use Credentially to:

  • Collect and verify documents (licences, training, references, background checks).

  • Check compliance in real time via integrations with official databases.

  • Streamline onboarding with digital forms, reminders, and dashboards.

  • Continuously track workforce compliance, avoiding expired or missing credentials.

  • Reduce time-to-hire from weeks to days by scaling recruitment efficiently.

More than 250 healthcare organisations use Credentially, from large private hospital groups to social care operators, and we process compliance for hundreds of thousands of clinicians. We doubled revenue this year, and the sales team hit its annual target by the end of Q3.

We already work all around the NHS. About half of Urgent Health UK's members use us, including IC24, FCMS and Shropdoc. So do insourcing providers and the recruitment agencies that supply NHS trusts. Having won a large share of the private sector, we're now taking Credentially to the NHS directly.

Position Overview

The NHS Sales Lead will win Credentially's first NHS trust, make it successful and then scale this win out across the NHS. Our conservative estimate is that Credentially can deliver £100M+ of annual operational savings within the NHS, delivering in year ROI’s and enable NHS clinicians to be deployed into roles in 75% less time. We’ve proved it in the Private Sector, now we need to enable the NHS. .

We want a lighthouse trust: one that others respect and listen to. You'll agree the success metrics with them up front (time-to-hire, agency spend, admin hours saved) and then prove them. That result becomes the case every other trust hears about, and the platform for opening up the rest of the NHS.

NHS leaders have already told us the problem is real. At our roundtables this autumn, trust executives talked about bank workers taking up to 12 weeks to onboard, compliance rules that change from trust to trust, and board-level Fit and Proper Person checks one described as "a nightmare process".

The role reports to the Head of UK Sales and works closely with the CEO, Product and our customer team.

Key Responsibilities

Win the lighthouse trust
  • Pick the target trust, build the relationships and run the deal from first meeting to signature.

  • Agree measurable outcomes before go-live, and work with our customer team to deliver and prove them.

  • Use the first win to open the rest of the NHS.

NHS Go-to-Market
  • Set the NHS go-to-market plan with the Head of UK Sales: individual trusts, national programmes such as Transforming People Services, partners, or the agency and staff bank route.

  • Map who matters, from CPOs, CFOs, Medical Directors and Chairs in trusts to NHS England, NHS SBS and the Workforce Alliance.

Frameworks and Procurement
  • Get us onto the right frameworks and lead tenders with our bid team.

  • Shape deals and commercial models that NHS finance teams can sign.

NHS Readiness
  • Make sure we're NHS-ready, working with Product on assurance (DSPT, DTAC) and integrations (ESR, TRAC, NHS Jobs).

Skills and Qualifications

Required
  • A record of selling software into the NHS, ideally including a time you broke in with a new product or a problem trusts hadn't tackled before.

  • Experience winning framework places and leading NHS tenders.

  • A network of senior NHS workforce, HR and digital leaders.

  • A good grasp of how the NHS is changing, from the NHS England merger into DHSC to ICB restructuring and the 10 Year Health Plan.

  • Able to build business cases a CFO will sign and a CPO will champion.

  • The patience for long sales cycles and the drive to see a big win through.

Desirable
  • Experience selling workforce, HR or compliance technology.

  • Experience working with consultancies and system integrators on NHS programmes.

Why Join Credentially

  • You'll be first: You'll build our NHS business, and the first big win will be yours.

  • The groundwork is done: NHS-adjacent customers, a tender in with NHS SBS, a Workforce Alliance framework in progress and warm relationships from our NHS roundtables.

  • The product sells: Daily GMC and NMC checks, weekly DBS update checks, digital ID, and compliance records that move with the worker between employers.

  • The team wins: We doubled revenue this year and hit target by Q3.

  • Room to grow: As the NHS opens up, so does the chance to build a team around you.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission on NHS new business.

  • Share-based Management Incentive Plan.

  • Training and development support.

  • A supportive, ambitious company culture.
