Director of Fundraising and Partnerships - London

The Impact Investing Institute is an independent non-profit working to transform capital markets for a fairer, greener and more resilient future. Through our Labs, field-building work and policy collaboration, we bring together finance, philanthropy, business and government to achieve change that no single organisation could deliver alone.

We are entering an important new phase of growth, and we are looking for an experienced fundraising and partnerships leader to help us get there. This newly created Director-level role sits at the heart of our strategy: deepening our impact, strengthening our financial resilience and scaling our influence over how capital is deployed.

This is both a strategic leadership role and a hands-on income-generation role. You will develop and deliver a fundraising and partnerships strategy aligned with our c.£2m income needs, build a diversified pipeline across foundations, government, corporates, financial institutions and family offices, and personally lead the cultivation of major, six-figure, multi-year funding relationships. You will also build trusted, long-term partnerships, ensuring supporters see the impact of their support and have every reason to renew and deepen their commitment.

As the leader of a small but growing team, you will set clear priorities, build capability, and embed strong disciplines around CRM, pipeline reviews and income forecasting. Working closely with the CEO, Board and senior colleagues - including deputising for the CEO on agreed external engagements - you will be one of the Institute's principal representatives with funders, investors, family offices and strategic partners.

We are looking for someone who enjoys building and delivering, not directing from a distance: equally comfortable shaping strategy one moment and supporting a major proposal, funder meeting or partnership negotiation the next.

What you will bring:

• A strong record of personally securing six-figure, multi-year funding commitments, across at least two of: foundations, government, corporates and financial institutions.
• The ability to execute a fundraising strategy while remaining hands-on, prioritising opportunities and judging income potential, effort and risk.
• Excellent relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to translate complex work into persuasive funding propositions.
• Experience leading and developing colleagues, and working collaboratively across programmes, finance and senior leadership.
• Sound financial and operational judgement, including budgeting, forecasting and partnership risk management.
• Genuine commitment to our mission and independence, with confidence applying digital tools and responsible AI.

Knowledge of impact investing, sustainable finance or capital markets, together with relevant funder networks, would be valuable but is not essential.
