Key Responsibilities
As a Primary Teacher in Mile End, your responsibilities will include:
Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and challenging lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports all pupils
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including SEN and EAL learners
Using formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and inform planning
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside academic progress
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and senior leaders to implement targeted interventions
Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives
Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and any concerns
Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, behaviour, and assessment data
Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and professional development opportunities
Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and a positive, consistent approach to behaviour
Is committed to inclusive education , supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners
Is reflective, proactive, and committed to professional growth
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team
Is passionate about making a lasting difference in children’s learning and development
Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is highly desirable but not essential.
