Salary: £85–£115 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role
A friendly and inclusive primary school in Brentford, West London is looking for a compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their SEN team. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The SEN TA will work with pupils with a wide range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), speech and language difficulties, and learning difficulties . Support may take place on a one-to-one basis , in small intervention groups , or within the classroom alongside teachers.

Key Responsibilities
Provide personalised academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN
Assist teachers with implementing EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour management strategies
Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching staff, and support staff to meet pupil needs
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
Promote positive behaviour and engagement using school-approved strategies
Adapt learning resources and activities to suit individual pupil needs
Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem
Observe and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to staff
Maintain safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil wellbeing

Confident supporting pupils with complex or challenging behaviour
Flexible and adaptable in a school environment
Strong communicator and team player
Reliable, proactive, and committed to helping pupils succeed
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Understanding of common SEN conditions and support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Not Essential)
SEN-related qualifications or training
Experience in specialist provisions or SEN units
Team Teach or behaviour management training
Background in education, psychology, care, or youth work
