Mobile Automotive Technician
Mobile Vehicle Technician – Mobile Service Division
Join us for a new era of mobile repair. Our Mobile Service Division delivers planned maintenance and repairs directly to members’ driveways or workplace car parks. There are no emergency call‑outs, no unpredictable shift patterns and no roadside recoveries – just a clear, scheduled list of jobs with the tools and support you need to do quality work.
What You’ll Do
- Follow a digital schedule of pre‑booked appointments.
- Perform routine servicing and comprehensive vehicle safety checks.
- Run diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
- Carry out in‑depth repairs normally performed in a workshop.
- Provide members with clear advice and recommendations based on your inspections.
- Order parts and manage paperwork through the organisation’s mobile service platform.
What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years of experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
Working Conditions
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week – core hours 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with one Saturday in four.
- Competitive base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of any applicable London weighting), with on‑target earnings up to £57,000.
- Guaranteed overtime option after the first month – £30 per hour for extra rest‑day work.
- Fully equipped mobile van, fuel card, uniform, complete tool set and advanced diagnostics provided from day one.
Benefits & Perks
- Earnings that motivate: Base salary plus bonuses and premium‑rate overtime.
- Tools to drive your future: Access to a comprehensive breakdown coverage plan from day one and a vehicle salary‑sacrifice scheme (including electric‑vehicle options) after 12 months.
- Time off that matters: 23 days holiday (rising to 25 days with service), plus bank holidays, paid family leave and flexible scheduling.
- Financial security: Pension scheme with up to 6.5 % employer matching and life‑assurance cover up to 4 × salary (optional 10 × with flex benefits).
- Wellbeing support: 24/7 confidential assistance available to you and household members aged 16 +.
- Exclusive discounts: Access to a discount portal offering deals on retailers, holidays, tools, technology and more.
- Share‑in‑success: Automatic enrolment in a colleague share scheme after successful completion of probation.
Opportunities for Growth
The role is designed for continuous development. You’ll receive training on the latest diagnostic tools, upcoming electric‑vehicle technologies and advanced repair techniques, paving the way for senior technical or supervisory positions within the organisation.
Who Thrives Here?
You’re not just great with tools – you’re great with people. As the face of the organisation, you’ll work independently on driveways and car parks, communicating directly with members and delivering reassurance, clarity and high‑quality service. You enjoy variety, problem‑solving and the freedom to make decisions on the spot, taking pride in keeping people safely on the move.
Why This Role Is Different
- Planned appointments instead of emergency responses.
- Consistent workflow rather than unpredictable demand.
- In‑depth repairs, not temporary roadside fixes.
- Time to do the job properly, with built‑in parts ordering and support.
- Clear schedules via a dedicated mobile service platform.
