Year 6 Teacher - Sutton

Marchant Recruitment
Sutton, Greater London

We are delighted to invite applications for a committed and inspiring Year 6 Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Sutton. This is a key role within the school and offers an excellent opportunity to support pupils during their final year of primary education as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

Our school prides itself on high expectations, strong relationships, and a nurturing ethos. As a Year 6 teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching across the curriculum, with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, and preparing pupils for statutory assessments. You will create a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment where pupils feel confident, supported, and motivated to achieve their best.

Assessment will be central to your practice. You will track progress carefully, identify gaps in learning, and deliver targeted interventions to support pupil outcomes. Experience with SATs preparation is desirable, and you will work closely with colleagues across Upper Key Stage 2 to ensure consistency and continuity.

You will be supported by experienced teaching assistants, the SEN team, and senior leaders to ensure all pupils, including those with SEND or EAL, are supported effectively. Building strong partnerships with parents and carers is highly valued, and you will be encouraged to communicate openly and positively with families.

The school is committed to staff development and wellbeing, offering access to high-quality professional development, mentoring, and opportunities to take on additional responsibilities as your career progresses.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum

  • Prepare pupils for statutory assessments

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Support pupils’ academic and emotional development

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and families

In return, we offer:

  • A welcoming and supportive staff team

  • Strong leadership and a clear school vision

  • Access to high-quality CPD and career development

  • Well-resourced classrooms

  • Motivated, respectful, and enthusiastic pupils

To be considered for this position, please forward an up-to-date CV as soon as possible.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
