About the role We are seeking a Commissioning Lead Negotiator to join our Adults Social Care Commissioning and Brokerage team. This pivotal role involves leading negotiations for complex care packages for Haringey residents, ensuring value for money and compliance with the Care Act 2014. You will work closely with Brokerage and Adult Social Care teams to deliver lawful, cost-effective solutions that improve outcomes for individuals with diverse and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead cost negotiations with care providers using tools such as CareCubed.
• Negotiate fair placement prices for new and existing contracts.
• Provide commercial intelligence on market trends and risks.
• Develop robust cost modelling to inform strategic commissioning decisions.
• Manage annual price reviews and uplifts across provider markets.
• Maintain accurate records in Liquid Logic and ensure timely provider payments.
• Support financial reporting and maintain a provider cost database.
• Contribute to strategic commissioning, quality assurance, and governance.
About you Essential:
• Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
• In-depth knowledge of the social care sector and relevant legislation.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience liaising with independent sector providers, including fee negotiations and contracts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with families, carers, and agencies.
• Excellent IT and data management skills.
Desirable:
• Experience in roles such as Compliance Manager or Quality Assurance Manager.
• Professional qualifications in social care or health services.
