Use your AWS, Terraform and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines to make an instant impact whilst you then learn the likes of Prometheus, Grafana and DataDog. Ideally, you will have knowledge of C++, Python or Golang too, but this isn't essential.

The role itself would see you work across scrum teams including Development, QA and InfoSec, collaborating to build secure, high-performing, resilient and efficient infrastructure. As you grow into your SRE position you will use your new knowledge to recommend improvements from the observations you have made - examples may include how best to standardise the deployments, across the entire technology function.
