An Outstanding secondary school in Wandsworth is seeking an HR Manager to join its central support team. This would suit an experienced HR professional who enjoys being involved across the full range of HR activity and wants a role where their advice and expertise can have a genuine impact.

Rather than being purely administrative, the position will involve working closely with school leaders and managers, helping them navigate people matters and ensuring HR processes are handled consistently and effectively.

A varied HR role

You will be involved in:

• Recruitment, selection and staff onboarding

• Contracts, employment changes and personnel documentation

• Employee relations and case management

• Absence and attendance management

• Performance management and probation

• HR policies and employment legislation

• Safeguarding and pre-employment compliance

• Staff records and HR systems

• Payroll liaison and monthly HR information

• Staff wellbeing and engagement

• HR reporting and workforce data

The right person

We're looking for someone who has already developed strong experience within an HR environment and is comfortable managing confidential and sometimes sensitive situations.

You should be approachable and professional, with the confidence to challenge when necessary and the judgement to know when matters need to be escalated. Experience within a school or education setting would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

A CIPD qualification would be welcomed, alongside a good understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
