Platform Director – Web & App

Royal Mail is on a journey to transform its digital experience, and we're looking for a visionary leader to join us as our new Platform Director – Web & App. This is a unique opportunity to shape how millions of customers interact with our services online, across every digital touchpoint.

Role Summary

As Platform Director – Web & App, you will own the full lifecycle of our digital platforms, from strategy through to delivery. You will lead the development of scalable, secure, and modern solutions that ensure consistency and simplicity across our web and app experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and execute the end-to-end strategy for Royal Mail’s web and app platforms.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, joined-up customer journeys.
- Establish frameworks and ways of working that promote agility and operational excellence.
- Oversee the development and evolution of our design system to ensure consistency across digital touchpoints.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business goals.
- Ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with modern technology standards.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across digital delivery teams.

What We’re Looking For

- Proven experience leading digital platform strategy and delivery at scale.
- Strong understanding of web and mobile technologies, including security and operational considerations.
- Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments.
- Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Passion for creating simple, intuitive, and impactful customer experiences.
- A mindset focused on excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to benchmark against best-in-class digital experiences and raise the bar for customer engagement.
