Maternity Nurse

A supportive nightly maternity nurse role in North West London helping first-time parents with feeding, settling and gentle sleep support for their 8-week-old baby.

Job Summary
This is a gentle, supportive role suited to an experienced maternity nurse who can provide reassurance and practical overnight help without introducing overly rigid routines or sleep training approaches. A first-time family based in NW6 are seeking an experienced Nightly Maternity Nurse to support them with their 8-week-old baby on a short-term basis.

Sleep has been challenging, and mum is understandably exhausted. The baby is breastfeeding well overall and gaining weight appropriately, although feeding remains frequent and there have been some difficulties with latch. The family are currently focused on receiving support and rest, rather than making significant changes to the baby’s routine. The role will involve providing calm overnight support, helping maintain a settled environment and making gentle adjustments where appropriate, without introducing strict sleep training methods. Mum would like a maternity nurse who is reassuring, communicative and responsive, particularly someone who will work collaboratively with her and keep her informed overnight if needed. The family have a very friendly doodle dog who sleeps in the parents’ room, so candidates must be comfortable around dogs. This role will suit a warm, nurturing professional who enjoys supporting families through the more demanding early weeks and can bring a calm, reassuring presence into the home.
