Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Delivery Lead for an Oracle database Migration to GCP. The role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of the migration project, ensuring systems are successfully moved to Google Cloud Platform on time and within scope. The role is a hands-on delivery leadership role focused on driving complex, multi-team cloud migration with strong emphasis on stakeholder management, risk control, and operational readiness.Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery working with a multi-vendor team including a cloud engineer, junior cloud engineer, DBA and 3rd party testing.
Manage tight migration schedules, tracking progress and resolving blockers rapidly
Coordinate external dependencies across application teams, security teams, DBAs, and infrastructure stakeholders
Liaise with application owners to align on migration windows, cutover readiness, and acceptance criteria
Manage scope carefully — protecting the migration blueprint while handling change requests and emerging risk
Report progress and escalate issues back to the programme leadership group
Run stand-ups, sprint planning, and governance checkpoints across both teams
Maintain risk and dependency logs; proactively chase down resolution
Facilitate cutover planning and support go-live coordination
Facilitate transition to BAU support team.
Required Skills & Experience:
Must Have:
Proven delivery management experience on cloud migration programmes, specifically migrating an Oracle database to Cloud (ideally GCP)
Experience managing multiple parallel workstreams or teams simultaneously
Strong stakeholder management — comfortable working across technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to manage scope and schedule pressure in a complex enterprise environment
Familiarity with Oracle database workloads and the concepts around database migration (ZDM, GoldenGate, or similar tooling)
Experience coordinating cutovers and managing cutover risk
Strong risk and dependency management discipline
Nice to Haves
Hands-on background in cloud or database encgineering (helps with credibility and technical conversations)
Experience with GCP
Familiarity with Oracle ZDM or GoldenGate migration tooling
Experience in retail environment.
Agile or SAFe delivery experience
GCP or cloud certifications
