Job Description:We are looking for an Organising Official to join the Bectu Sector team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Prospect members and driving recruitment and retention initiatives, developing existing branch structures and identifying new organising opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience in dealing with personal case work and working with varying stakeholders across the organisation both internally and externally, as well as a passion for working for a Trade Union.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with negotiating teams to identify, plan and deliver recruitment and organising regional and national campaigns.
Develop communications appropriate for a range of different work spaces.
Build and develop branch structures.
Deliver effective case work and employment law knowledge for members.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication with ability to influence.
- Knowledge and understanding of employment law.
- Strong planning, organising, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering organising projects, campaigning for organisational change or similar.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of pensions.
- Knowledge of health and safety.
