Head of Content (Live Events)

EC Group
London
We're a live events agency and so when we talk content, we mean live show content. You'll be leading, and scaling our content team, shaping standout storytelling for live, hybrid and virtual experiences while building a brilliant team and driving impact.

Make the extraordinary, everlasting - with us.

At EC, we craft extraordinary experiences that leave a lasting impression - not just for our clients, but for our people too. We blend the big ideas of a creative agency with the meticulous execution of a production company, bringing bold, imaginative events to life.

We’re collaborative, down-to-earth, and serious about delivering quality - all while finding time for lightness and fun. If you’re someone who’s curious, adaptable and excited to do meaningful work with a team that’s got your back, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As Head of Content, you will lead the next phase of growth for a functioning and ambitious department.

Working in close partnership with the Executive Creative Director and Content-focused Creative Directors, you will ensure that exceptional creative output is underpinned by strong commercial performance, effective operations and a clear, scalable offering.

You will partner with our Chief Growth Officer to define how content evolves within EC - expanding its reach, sharpening its commercial edge and embedding it more deeply across the business.

This is a head of department role, requiring strength in commercial ownership, operational delivery and people leadership, with the confidence to influence at all levels, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Growth

  • Define and deliver a clear strategy for scaling the content department and its role within EC.

  • Identify and develop new revenue streams, including standalone content opportunities.

  • Position content as a core part of the EC offer and a differentiator in the market.

  • Own departmental financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability and forecasting.

  • Contribute to the broader business strategy as part of the senior leadership team.

Commercial & Client Leadership

  • Lead content conversations with clients, bringing credibility, clarity and commercial focus.

  • Play a key role in business development, shaping proposals, pitches and new opportunities.

  • Build strong, trusted relationships at the senior client level.

  • Spot and convert opportunities to grow accounts and expand the content offering.

  • Balance creative ambition with commercial delivery, ensuring strong outcomes across both.

Creative Partnership

  • Partner closely with the Executive Creative Director to deliver best-in-class content.

  • Bring a strong understanding of how content enhances storytelling within live and hybrid experiences.

  • Ensure the team is set up to deliver creative excellence consistently and at scale.

  • Stay connected to industry trends and innovation, bringing ideas and perspective into the business.

Leadership & Capability

  • Lead, develop and grow a multidisciplinary content team.

  • Create clarity in structure, roles and progression to support long-term growth.

  • Build a high-performing, collaborative and accountable culture.

  • Mentor and develop individuals, supporting both performance and potential.

  • Build and manage a strong network of freelance and specialist talent.

Operational Excellence

  • Implement scalable processes and systems to support growth and efficiency

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration of content into wider project delivery

  • Oversee resourcing, delivery standards and margin performance

  • Ensure governance, compliance and best practice across all content output

What you bring:

  • Experience within live events , brand experience or a closely related industry

  • Significant experience leading a content function or similar within an agency environment with a focus on live events or brand experience

  • A strong commercial mindset, with experience owning budgets, driving revenue and delivering growth

  • Proven ability to scale teams, processes and output

  • Confidence operating at senior level, influencing both clients and internal stakeholders

  • A genuine passion for content and its role in storytelling and audience experience

How you lead:

  • You are a credible, people-first leader who builds trust quickly

  • You think commercially and take ownership for results

  • You bring energy, ambition and a desire to grow a business area

  • You communicate clearly and influence effectively at all levels

  • You develop people and create an environment where teams can thrive

  • You are comfortable operating with autonomy, accountability and pace

Ready to Apply?

If this role excites you but you’re not sure you meet every requirement, we still want to hear from you. We believe in potential and are always open to people who bring passion, integrity, and a fresh perspective.

Hit “Apply” and share your CV. Need any adjustments to make the process more accessible? Just let us know - we’re happy to support you.

We value original thinking and real‑world experience. While AI tools can be helpful, your application should reflect your own skills, perspective and career story.

Applications that appear to rely heavily on generic or AI‑generated content may not progress if we’re unable to clearly understand your individual contribution or experience.

Our Hiring Process

While the steps may vary by role, here’s what you can generally expect:

  • A short Teams call to say hello

  • A task or survey to understand how you work

  • A face-to-face interview with your future team

  • A culture conversation to make sure it’s a match both ways

We’ll keep you updated at every stage and do our best to make the process smooth, transparent, and welcoming.

Your voice. Your growth. Your experience. #YourEC
