The Role

Our Client is looking for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team in Hitchin, Hertfordshire . The Client offers neurological care and rehabilitation for people with brain injuries and neurological conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled occupational therapist to provide high-quality, person-centred assessment and intervention while supporting the development of clinical practice.

You’ll work collaboratively with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues to promote independence, wellbeing and meaningful participation in everyday activities. The role is ideal for someone who combines strong clinical expertise with excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills. Alongside working in a beautiful historical building providing care and slow stream rehabilitation to people with neurological conditions.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop person-centred treatment plans.

  • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual needs and goals.

  • Support service users to develop independence in daily living, occupational and community activities.

  • Monitor, evaluate and document outcomes, adapting interventions where appropriate.

  • Work closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate effective care.

  • Provide specialist advice on equipment, adaptations, rehabilitation and risk management.

  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.

  • Contribute to care planning, reviews, safeguarding and clinical governance processes.

  • Support the supervision, mentoring and development of occupational therapy colleagues and students.

  • Contribute to service improvement, audit, training and the development of occupational therapy practice.

  • Promote a positive, inclusive and recovery-focused approach across the service.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy .

  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) .

  • Significant post-registration experience as an occupational therapist, including experience at a senior level.

  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy assessment, intervention and outcome measurement.

  • Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality and professional standards.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.

  • Confident supporting colleagues through supervision, mentoring and practice development.

  • A compassionate, proactive and person-centred approach.

  • A commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
