We are seeking an experienced, patient, and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Sutton, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs and creating a tailored, inclusive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional development.

The school has a strong inclusive ethos and works closely with families, colleagues, and external professionals to provide personalised support for pupils with SEND. Staff collaborate to ensure each child receives the guidance and resources needed to reach their full potential. Senior leadership is approachable and supportive, offering mentoring, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

As an SEN Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons that are specifically tailored to the needs of pupils with additional needs. You will lead interventions, support pupils’ individual targets, and work collaboratively with the SENCo, teaching assistants, and parents to ensure consistent, high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans and EHCP targets

  • Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally

  • Work closely with teaching assistants to provide classroom support

  • Monitor, observe, and record pupil progress accurately

  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to coordinate support

  • Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

  • Lead small group interventions or one-to-one sessions as required

  • Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally in a primary setting

  • Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be proactive, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement

  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing

The school is located in Sutton, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a professional, inclusive, and well-resourced working environment where collaboration, development, and wellbeing are prioritised.

How to Apply
