Communications Executive (Graduate)
Context for the Role:
The Communications Executive works within the Corporate Affairs team to protect Ardonagh’s reputation and bring its editorial and brand strategy to life through the proactive management of our key channels, audiences and the creation of compelling content and corporate PR which reinforces the corporate narrative and builds audience engagement.
This broad role also supports the smooth running of Corporate Affairs department by being responsible for daily and weekly tasks such as press office and mailbox management, media monitoring, website and social media maintenance, and administration of relevant suppliers, subscriptions and corporate accounts.
You also work across the year as part of a team on internal and external campaigns, events and special projects including those for our Group charity, ACT.
You come with a passion or interest in journalism, PR and copywriting, understanding of social media and other communications platforms. Experience contributing to a company intranet and website is preferable but not essential. The role provides an excellent opportunity for a journalism, marketing or communications graduate, or someone looking to build experience and develop their career in this field.
Qualifications & Experience:
- This role would suit a graduate or early communications professional looking for a challenging role to further broaden their experience in a fast-faced, growing, multi-site, multi-disciplined organisation.
- A passion or experience in journalism, PR or copywriting.
- Superb communications skills – written (e.g. news writing, speeches and presentations, press releases) and verbal (e.g. from 1:1 to audience briefings) - effective across diverse audiences.
- Confident in planning and strong organisational skills - with the ability to manage and execute a large number of projects and tasks simultaneously taking a hands-on approach to delivery with meticulous attention to detail especially in high pressure situations.
- Confident and comfortable with a fast pace of delivery; can manage multiple priorities at once and can deliver high quality solutions against a backdrop of ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills at all organisational levels from frontline employee through to exec and board.
- Strong quality control skills – exception proofing, writing, sign off and distribution skill with meticulous attention to detail especially in high pressure situations.
- Proficient in SharePoint, Yammer, Microsoft Office and other channels.
- Able to learn and quickly adopt new technical skills pertinent to role
- Knowledge and understanding of social media and communication channels management practices and techniques advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of The Ardonagh Group and the wider industry highly advantageous.
- Degree and/or professional qualifications relating to communications and marketing ideal.

Please note: Whilst the team operate remotely, occasional travel is required for the role. The role may also benefit from regular visits to the London head office to build relationships with key stakeholders.
