Intro Cedar is currently partnered with a dominant Financial Services business to help them secure an Interim Legal Entity Controller. This role sits within Group Financial Control and has been created to add capacity across a number of accounting-led projects. It is based in their City office and offered as an initial 6-month contract, paying £500-650 per day (via umbrella).
The Company This fast-growing organisation has made a significant impact on the Financial Services market in recent years. Now listed, they continue to expand operations across EMEA and APAC, often through strategic acquisitions and corporate restructuring. The firm is agile, technology-enabled, and known for its complex, cross-border operational model.
The Role As Interim Legal Entity Controller, you will support the delivery of accounting and reporting outcomes linked to a wide range of strategic projects. Key areas of focus include:

- Assisting with technical accounting papers and reviews in connection with acquisitions, disposals and intercompany reorganisations.
- Supporting the legal entity close and consolidation process, ensuring accounting records remain accurate during periods of change.
- Helping deliver legal entity rationalisation initiatives, including wind-downs, entity strike-offs and final balance sheet close-outs.
- Assisting with the financial integration of newly acquired businesses into the group structure.
- Ensuring intercompany positions and transfer pricing arrangements are accurately captured and documented.
- Partnering with wider Finance, Tax and Treasury teams to ensure accounting treatment aligns with structuring objectives.
- Reviewing and documenting controls and processes within the Legal Entity Control function.
- Supporting external audits and preparing robust supporting documentation during project transitions.
Your Profile You will ideally have:
- A formal Accountancy Qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CA, etc).
- Experience delivering accounting or reporting outcomes in the context of M&A, legal entity restructuring, or finance transformation.
- Strong technical accounting skills across IFRS and group reporting in a multi-entity environment.
- Experience navigating large audits or interacting with external auditors on technical matters.
- A track record of operating effectively in fast-paced, change-heavy finance environments.
- Prior Financial Services sector experience is beneficial but not essential.
Compensation & Benefits In addition to the day rate of £500-650, this contract offers an opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile finance function during a transformative phase. You'll join a collaborative, well-resourced team with exposure to senior stakeholders and commercially significant projects.
The role is based in a modern City of London office, easily accessible from multiple tube and mainline stations.
