Engineering Leader

Our client, a leading industrial organisation with diverse operations across multiple facilities, seeks a dynamic and experienced Engineering Leader to shape the future engineering model and drive consistency, reliability, and excellence within its platform. As part of this transformation journey, this role will become increasingly important over time.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy: Lead engineering strategy, infrastructure development, reliability initiatives, asset performance improvement, continuous improvement efforts, and capital investment planning.
• Operational Excellence: Drive central engineering and continuous improvement activities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Integration & Coordination: Foster a more integrated and coordinated engineering function across a complex multi-site environment.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing outcomes without relying solely on hierarchy, and balancing strategic priorities with operational demands.
• Performance Management: Lead and mentor engineering teams, promoting safety and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Requirements

• Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience as an engineering leader with safety as a top priority.
• Engineering Expertise: Possess outstanding leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, alongside credible experience within complex asset-intensive environments (e.g., heavy industrial manufacturing, utilities, infrastructure, chemicals, energy-intensive manufacturing).
• Professional Credentials: Chartered or professionally qualified engineering credentials are preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong electrical and/or multi-disciplinary engineering expertise.
• Operational Experience: Experience leading engineering within complex operational environments with significant OPEX and CAPEX responsibility.
• Collaboration & Influence: Ability to operate effectively across matrix organisations and engage diverse stakeholder groups with influence beyond direct authority.

Working Conditions

This role requires significant engagement with stakeholders across multiple locations and departments within the organisation. Expect travel to sites as needed.

You will be required to make decisions in complex situations with ambiguity.
