Associate Manager, Joint Replacement

Working within Stryker’s UK Joint Replacement division, the Associate Manager will support the London team in delivering regional sales growth, customer experience excellence and strong commercial execution. This role is suited to a commercially driven sales professional who can build trusted customer partnerships, contribute to team performance and demonstrate the leadership behaviours required to make healthcare better through Stryker’s industry-leading products and services.

Designed as a manager development opportunity, the role does not carry direct line management responsibility. Instead, the Associate Manager will lead through influence, collaboration and role modelling, working closely with the Senior Regional Sales Manager to support commercial priorities, coach colleagues and help strengthen capability across the team.

Key responsibilities summary: The Associate Manager will contribute to forecasting, pipeline management, strategic account planning and Mako growth priorities, while supporting a high-performance culture through coaching, feedback and leadership without direct authority.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Partner with the London Senior Regional Sales Manager and wider team to deliver regional financial, commercial and performance objectives, including sales growth, Mako utilisation and market development.
  • Support forecasting, pipeline management and opportunity planning by identifying risks, growth opportunities and actions required to improve execution.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the regional strategic plan, supporting prioritisation, progress tracking and execution of key initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Mako and Enabling Technology colleagues to identify customer-facing opportunities, strengthen the sales pipeline and support delivery of Mako growth priorities.
  • Build and strengthen strategic healthcare system relationships, supporting customer partnerships, account development and long-term business growth.
  • Support complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers across customer organisations.
  • Lead through influence by role modelling high performance standards, encouraging ownership and supporting colleagues to execute effectively against regional priorities.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues by providing guidance, feedback and practical support to strengthen capability, confidence and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to a high-performance culture by supporting engagement, talent development, retention and the sharing of commercial best practice.
  • Work cross-functionally with enabling teams to support a smooth order-to-cash process, effective account communication and consistently high levels of customer service.
  • Escalate relevant customer, account and performance insight to senior management, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up.
  • Stand in for the Senior Regional Sales Manager during agreed periods of absence, supporting continuity of communication, prioritisation and team coordination.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Proven success over at least five years in a sales, sales support and/or marketing role, with demonstrable examples of coaching, influencing or supporting colleagues to improve performance.
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding targets, with evidence of contributing to team performance and shared commercial outcomes.
  • Product and sales knowledge within the medical devices sector, or experience within a theatre environment, would be advantageous.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to support financial objectives, sales growth initiatives and strategic account planning.
  • Experience supporting sales forecasting, pipeline management and opportunity planning would be advantageous.
  • Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a strategic and proactive approach to business planning.
  • Confident, adaptable and resilient, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communicator with excellent coaching, feedback and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to build credibility, trust and strong relationships internally and externally without relying on direct authority.
  • High integrity, strong ethics and a clear sense of ownership and accountability for regional performance outcomes.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
  • Capital sales experience would be an advantage.

This role will require approximately 90% travel to customer sites and Stryker offices as required. The main territory covers the Greater London region. This is a 12 Month initial Fixed Term Contract

United Kingdom Pay Ranges:

  • United Kingdom : £54,300 - £90,500 GBP Annual
