Service Transition Lead (IT)

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position. Candidate profile: In this role, you will lead the operational service design and transition of project deliverables into live environments, ensuring services are fully documented, supportable, and aligned with operational standards. You will act as a key bridge between delivery and service operations, ensuring minimal disruption to business-as-usual activities while enabling long-term service stability and performance. You will take ownership of transition governance, working across multiple stakeholders and suppliers to ensure services are introduced effectively, while contributing to demand planning, resource forecasting, and continuous service improvement within a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Lead & Govern service transition activities across multiple projects
- Ensure & Embed operational readiness, documentation, and KBAs
- Manage & Coordinate Operational Service Design and Transition (OSD&T) into live environments with minimal disruption
- Collaborate & Influence stakeholders across delivery, operations, and suppliers
- Assess & Triage new service demand using impact assessment frameworks
- Plan & Forecast OSD&T resource demand and capacity
- Report & Analyse service performance, governance, and financials
- Support & Advise on escalation and service strategy across portfolios
- You should have strong experience in Service Transition / Service Introduction
- Strong understanding of ITIL and service management frameworks
- Proven ability to work in large enterprise or government environments
- Demonstrated stakeholder management across delivery and operations teams
- Experience working with multiple suppliers and delivery partners
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and dependencies
- Strong reporting, governance, and operational planning skills
